He turned to Chris Columbus, who had left National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation before shooting started because of a personality clash with starring actor Chevy Chase, who Columbus said treated him "like dirt".
In Polish, the movie is called Kevin sam w domu (meaning "Kevin home alone"). In Poland the film "Home Alone" became a phenomenon and part of the Christmas tradition. At the 12th Youth in Film Awards, Macaulay Culkin won Best Young Actor Starring in a Motion Picture. The film is listed in the Guinness World Records as the highest-grossing live-action comedy ever and held the record until it was overtaken by The Hangover Part II in 2011. Home Alone was first released by Fox Video on VHS and LaserDisc in the United States on August 22, 1991, their first video to go direct to sell-through rather than to the video rental market first. It sold 11 million copies, generating Fox revenue of $150 million making it, along with E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, the highest-selling video of all time at that point. Due to the sales, the film did not perform as well in the rental market. Harry and Marv break in, spring the traps, and suffer various injuries.

When Alex is explaining that the bad guys had Johnny Allen's dog and Allen said his dog was stolen, the police brush it off. Johnny Allen reporting his dog missing and Alex seeing the dog with the bad guys is sufficient enough evidence for Alex's story to have credibility. Macaulay Culkin refused to do this film, simply because he'd grown tired of the role, and felt that there was nothing else he could've done with it.

This one has to do with some secret group of agents accidentally misplaced there product at the airport which has some important chip in it that's top secret. They track down where the product is which is in Chicago, and located in somewhere in a neighborhood. Alex D. Linz plays a Chicago youngster home sick with the chicken pox. Home Alone 3 is not airing on TV as much as the other films, but it can be streamed from a variety of platforms.
Additionally, Joe Pesci also reprised his role as Harry, only for his voice making a small cameo. It was praised for its quotable phrases, morals, traps, and main character. Hannah-Rose Yee of Stylist called the ending "very sweet" and praised the score from John Williams, calling it "fantastic". Christopher Hooton of The Independent also praised the film, calling the film-within-a-film Angels with Filthy Souls "a fond footnote in cinema history". Matt Talbot from Simcoe.com said that the Wet Bandits were "fantastic" and "never old" on "repeat viewings". Michael Walsh of Nerdist noted the church scene as "One of the best, most touching scenes ".
